【Journey to the West of Xizang】Toling Monastery, a Famous Temple with a History of 1,000 Years
Toling Monastery, a famous temple with a history of 1,000 years, is located in Zanda County, Ngari Region, Xizang Autonomous Region. It was built by Lha Lama through imitation of the Samye Monastery in 996. Rinchen Zangpo, Atisha, and other eminent monks with great virtue once lived here, translated sutra, gave sutra lectures, wrote books, and established the doctrine. Toling Monastery became the religious center of Guge Kingdom and the most famous monastery in the west of Xizang.
