On November 25, Dream·Road, a large-scale symphonic suite of the “Two Roads” spirit, was successfully held at the theater of the China National Opera House.
Dream·Road is composed by Fang Dongqing, a young composer, according to the history of the construction of the Sichuan-Xizang Highway and Qinghai-Xizang Highway and the historical background of modern transportation development in Xizang.
Lasting for around 70 minutes, it is integrated with Tibetan culture and consists of six movements: the overture Ode to the “Two Roads”, Snow-covered Xizang, Dream on “Two Roads”, Celebrating the Victory, Tribute to Heros, and Rainbow on the Plateau.
Sichuan-Xizang Highway and Qinghai-Xizang Highway are called the “golden bridge of happiness” and “auspicious rainbow” by the Tibetan people. At the concert, two Tibetan singers performed the theme song of the symphony, Golden Bridge. Together with the presence of Tibetan opera and folk songs, the symphony became highly diversified and was endowed with rich ethnic customs.
