The mouth of Dorje Choden Nyingma Spring, located at an elevation of 5,128 meters, is in Gampa County of Xigaze City, the Xizang Autonomous Region.

According to Tibetan texts, it is said that in the mid-8th century, during his return journey after spreading Buddhist teachings, the legendary master Padmasambhava from Uddiyana passed by Choden Nyingma. Seeing the widespread illnesses among people, he struck the mountainside with his staff and created this spring. It is revered as a “nectar” given to humanity to heal all ailments and is celebrated by locals as “the sacred water of Xizang.” Tests show that the Choden Nyingma mineral water has low sodium levels, minimal mineralization, and a high concentration of strontium, with all elements exceeding the national standards for natural drinking water.
